This post is to update you all on some changes for Caraliza this year as regards our usual markets and there is one major change that we’re sad to announce: there will be no Fair Alternative Christmas Market in the Unitarian Church, Cork city this year.
We’re hugely disappointed. This is the one market we’ve done every single year since we started the business and it’s a special one; over the years we’ve made great friendships, met some fantastic customers and soaked up the wonderful Christmas atmosphere there. Christmas just won’t be the same this year without it.
Sadly, the people running the building have cancelled the market for 2020, so it is not to be. We’re currently discussing options with the other regular traders to see if we can find another venue in the city centre so fingers crossed, we’ll come up with something. As soon as we do, we’ll be sure to update you.
Regarding our other regular markets, on Fridays we are more than likely going to be in just Bantry. The sweet Clonakilty market hasn’t been the same since its location moved from the original spot by O’Donavon’s Hotel to Emmet Square and it doesn’t get the same footfall as it used to so at the moment, it’s looking like we won’t be there this year.
As for Sundays, we currently plan to do both Lismore and Ardmore but that may change to just one of them in the coming weeks.
If any of the details here do change, we’ll be sure to update our pages. For now, here is the list of our markets in the coming months:
Sunday: Lismore and Ardmore
Hope we see some of you lovely people at one of these. In the meantime, stay safe and well and take care of each other!
Much love from us all at Caraliza HQ,
Liz and Alex
